| Rapid technological change has caught Indian cutters sitting on old technology rough diamond scanners. OctoNus clarity planning scanners, M-Box™ and Helium™, have made old technology scanners redundant. However manufacturers cannot justify throwing their earlier investments on the scrap heap. But they face losing money to competitors who upgraded to the OctoNus technology that optimizes included rough. Those competitors can pay more for the rough, and with African beneficiation schemes, there is a shortage of bigger rough in the market.
Mr. Janak Mistry of Lexus said "At clients requests we ran tests to check if old scanners could be upgraded to work with Helium™ software and M-Box™. Unfortunately Sarin® and other scanners were found not have sufficiently accurate optics and hardware." When OctoNus CEO Mr. Sergey Sivovolenko was faced with this difficult scenario during his recent visit, he offered a generous trade-in deal for old technology scanners.
Sivovolenko said: "We will rebate those old scanners for a purchase against a new generation Helium™ scanner with Oxygen™ software and the revolutionary new M-Box™ 115X power Leica™ microscope. We will make those old scanners available in China and other markets where the smaller size business has moved. These old scanners can be upgraded with high performance computers to meet the demand for scanners between $7,000 and $10,000."
Lexus and OctoNus are offering Indian manufacturers a 50% rebate on today's current sale value for Sarin rough laser scanners based on a seven year depreciation schedule. This generous offer holds until the end of October 2007.
